Lace Up To Make Sport Safer For All
Hertfordshire FA are proud to support this year’s Rainbow Laces campaign
Hertfordshire FA are proud to be a part of the 2024 Rainbow Laces campaign and urge all leagues and clubs in our area to show their support. This year the campaign will take place from Saturday 16 November to Wednesday 4 December.
For over ten years, players, allies and fans have been tying Rainbow Laces in support of LGBTQ+ equality. Despite the progress, large parts of the LGBTQ+ community still hide their identity while attending or participating in sporting events. And in 2024, we need to do better.
Sport should be safe and welcoming for everyone, at all levels - from professional to grassroots. As the Rainbow Laces campaign moves into its second decade, the message is clear: Lace Up To Make Sport Safer For All. Let’s create safe spaces where everyone can be themselves.
Why Rainbow Laces Matter
Lacing up in rainbow is about showing that your club or organisation is a safe space. Whether it’s worn on the pitch, in the stands, or shared on social media, Rainbow Laces serve as a visible stand for equality. This year’s theme, Lace Up To Make Sport Safer For All, underscores the importance of making sport an environment where everyone can be their authentic selves without fear of discrimination.
