New Referee Course Bursary
We want to ensure that people from all parts of our football community have the opportunity to become match officials in our county
We are proud that Hertfordshire is home to a diverse football community and work hard to create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for everyone. At the same time, we recognise that this diversity is not always reflected in every area of the game and are committed to delivering better representation across our sport.
As part of these efforts, we are pleased to offer a Referee Course which is specifically for those from historically underrepresented ethnic communities who want to become match officials, helping to ensure that football in Hertfordshire offers opportunities for all.
Applications are now open for a bursary to support the cost of enrolling on this particular course, which will take place in Bushey on the following dates:
Queens’ School Bushey, WD23 2TY
Wednesday 21st August, 6pm-9pm
Sunday 25th August, 9am-5pm
We are grateful to The FA and Community Game Changers who have supported us in expanding opportunities for new referees from a diverse range of backgrounds, by providing the bursary that will reduce cost of undertaking this course from £135 to just £40.
Anyone wishing to take advantage of this bursary should complete the Expression of Interest Form by following the link below.
As part of this process we are also running a pre-course event at Watford FC on 18th July to support individuals from underrepresented ethnic communities who are interested in getting into refereeing.
